Yury Viktorovich FEDOTOV

Born in 1947.

Graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1971. Since then on diplomatic service. 1974-1980 - Third, then Second Secretary of the Soviet Embassy in Algeria. 1981-1983 - works in Foreign Ministry in Moscow. 1983-1988 - serves as Political Counsellor of the Embassy in New Delhi, India.

1988-1993 - Works in the Foreign Ministry in Moscow, form 1991 Deputy Director of the Department of International Organizations, MFA.

1993-1999 - Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations in New York.

1999-2002 - Serves in MFA in Moscow as Director of the Department of International Organizations.

2002 - 2005 - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

As a member or a head of Russian delegations took part in many international fora such as sessions of UN General Assembly, ECOSOS, UN Commission on Human Rights, WFP, UN ECE, etc.

Since June 2005 - Ambassador of Russia to the Court of St. James's (presented the Credentials to HM the Queen on July 14, 2005).

Decorations: The Order of Friendship, some medals.

Married, has a son and a daughter.
